Prices

Prices (as of 1st November 2025)

- For regular texts (scripts, treatments, synopses, pitches, interviews, contracts, etc) I charge €80 per 1000 words of the original German text, although if the text is particularly technical and requires a lot of research on my part, I may suggest a higher price based on the estimated time required.

- For rewrites of scripts and other texts, I will suggest a price based on the time I think it will take. If the rewrite involves a large number of changes throughout the text, please bear in mind that as well as translating the actual new text, it also takes me some time to delete the old text, insert the new and check that it matches well with the surrounding text.

- For subtitles I also charge the regular price of €80 per 1000 words, but please note that I can’t do the spotting; if you send me the spotted list, with timecodes, I will base the price on the number of words of actual text.

- For summaries of novels and longer texts: I calculate price on an ad hoc basis depending on the length of the novel, the length of the synopsis required, and whether descriptions of character, plot and setting are also needed. For example, if I am asked to create an 8,000 word summary, with descriptions of character, plot and setting, of a novel 100,000 words in length, I would charge approximately €950.

REDUCTION FOR STUDENTS: I am happy to reduce my price by 15% for students at any film school in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
